Christmas Cards!

Here is where I found the ticket corner frame.  I did have to take the middle out in inkscape so that it wasn't a thin frame.

Hey all!

I'm having all sorts of trouble editing my videos from my digital camera.  I think a Flip is on my Christmas list.  I've been so frustrated trying to convert a .mov file into something that I can edit on Windows Movie Maker or even edit in the Kodak software.  I've even been on the phone with Kodak to get some help but it just isn't working.  I've decided that I really need to look at myself before I go in front of the camera, I look like death warmed over!

Weight Loss Update:  Well, last Saturday I lost .6 pounds since July 9th.  That was the last time I weighed in.  OUCH!  I didn't gain so that was good.  I have been working out like a crazy person.  I even took two x-bike classes two days!  I feel so good too because I wasn't sore.  I ended up getting like 15 activity points both those days.  So I'm hoping to see it pay off a little better than it did last week.  I have been running to my WW meetings which is 3 miles from my house and running home after that.  I just have to remember that the plan works if I work it!

Well, I sitting here enjoying my clean scraproom...do I really want to start doing something?  I should finish my cards!  So maybe I'll make a video of that. Thanks for watching and reading!

I need to get better at this!

Yes, it has been awhile since I posted. I apologize. We've had a busy summer but also a sad summer. This past Saturday my husband's uncle passed away. We are a very close family, seeing each other at least once a week. He was such a kind and sweet spirit. He was such a wonderful musician, one of the best in the area. He always had something interesting to say and at least acted like he was interested in what you were saying:) My husband's aunt (2nd mother), my daughter's godmother, has had a particularly hard year, losing her grandson, father and husband. She is a lot stronger than she thought she was. It really makes you count your blessings.

We welcomed our 10th niece/nephew on August 13th. So yay baby Martin.

On a lighter note, as I have written in the past I am disgusted with my weight gain. However, this week, I've lost 5 pounds. I have been journaling a lot better and going to the gym and not only doing cardio but also doing weights as well. It has really made me feel like a stronger runner. I feel especially awesome when my fat butt is outlasting all these "Hottie McHot Hot" guys around me on the treadmill. I think people are surprised to see me running. I've been thinking about training for something but we really can't afford to be entering a lot of races. I'll figure something out.

I've been working on Christmas cards. Yes, I know it is August but I'm determined for them to be sent out at the beginning of December. I've decided to go with a couple of designs because there were just so many ideas on Splitcoaststampers I couldn't pick just one.

I'm also working on making videos. I have to use my 5 year old digital camera and a broken tripod but I'll try my hand at this new "in" thing to do this weekend.

It has been oh so long...

So I've been on like four trips this summer and I'm soooo tired of being gone. Each trip was great but I'm exhausted! Ate horribly and can't fit in any of my clothes....arg! The new Cal Fit opened and it is pretty nice. I love the locker rooms and the water bottle faucet on the drinking fountains. The machines are pretty nice but quite a few are already malfunctioning. I went two days in a row and that makes me happy but the hubby has had a fever for two nights and so I stayed home just in case he needs me. I'll be going tomorrow though, I've just got to get back into it. I haven't journaled anything today, again...I just gotta do it. I need a goal...hmmmm, gotta think about that.

So I'm trying my first challenge, why is it that I'm never happy with anything I come up with on my own. So here is the picture of my little project using letter cutouts I got like 7 years ago. I probably should have ditched them but the kids could always use them.

One tough day!

This morning we got the call that Voovoo (pseudo Portugeuse for Grandpa) passed away. He was an amazing man that everyone loved. We knew it was coming but it is still very sad. Heaven just gained one hell of an angel. We are planning on heading to Wisconsin on Friday so my husband will be staying home while I take the kids to a family reunion. He did manage to find a flight that he will be able to join us later. He does not like the fact that I will be flying with a 5 and 6 year old by myself but they have been pretty good and there will be lots of bribery:) I never had a grandfather so Voovoo was the best replacement I could have asked for. He had 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. I am so very happy that my two will remember going over to Voova and Voovoo's house every Sunday and every holiday and getting a great big scratchy kiss.

Spiderman Layout

So here is what I did last night. The spiderwebs came from the PDDU cartridge, the Spiderman silhouette came from Mardenz's website, and the #4 was from a font already on my computer. I have SCAL so it makes it really easy. I although you can't tell on the pics, the spiderwebs have Glossy Accents drops on them. They make such cute dew drops.

Day 2 Down-Yay

So back to the gym I went. That was a little Yoda-ish. I sat on the dreaded bike for 45 minutes but I forgot my heart rate monitor watch. Arg, how frustrating! I was determined to go faster than the skinny chick next to me so that kept the HR up. And because I didn't want to miss the end of House I went on the treadmill and walked at a 15% incline for 20 minutes. I try not to run two days in a row because I have some weird foot pain. Oh yeah, I need to write that down. I've been living off this chili that is only 2 points per cup. YUM! Those 1 point giant latte bars have been keeping me honest as well. It was quite disheartening to see my reflection in the mirror. I swore I wouldn't go back to this. As my wonderful husband says...I know I can do it because I already have.

I hit Joann before the gym and they were still out of Coredinations paper. That was disappointing. I did find spiderweb paper that goes really well with the layout I'm doing right now. My son's 4th birthday cake was all Spidey!

Scrapbook Expo is coming to Santa Clara in August. I loved the class I took from Layle Koncor, I might do it again.

Random thoughts done!

Running and Shopping....what?!

So yesterday I went for a short run to send off a cartridge at the post office. There was a Michaels in the same shopping center so I decided to go check it out. I ended up getting six sharpie minis to try on my Cricut (they worked by the way). I couldn't buy anything too big because I had to run back with it. The run was harder than I remember it being but I ran and that is what counts. That's what I get for putting on 30 pounds. I saw a fellow WW out and about when I was supposed to be running and not shopping so that got me on the road again. Today I'm going to the gym because the kids have been itching to swim. I can work out then take them to the pool. I've got to commit to journaling everyday. Back in the day I made my own journal because the ones they have at WW just weren't cute enough. I have since just designed a journal page I can fit in my planner I've had forever that I never used. Well, wish me luck....here I go again!

The First Post

So here's my first post. I hope to be making some kind of improvement every day to this blog as I learn more and more how to make it my own. Thanks for checking it out:)
