One tough day!

This morning we got the call that Voovoo (pseudo Portugeuse for Grandpa) passed away. He was an amazing man that everyone loved. We knew it was coming but it is still very sad. Heaven just gained one hell of an angel. We are planning on heading to Wisconsin on Friday so my husband will be staying home while I take the kids to a family reunion. He did manage to find a flight that he will be able to join us later. He does not like the fact that I will be flying with a 5 and 6 year old by myself but they have been pretty good and there will be lots of bribery:) I never had a grandfather so Voovoo was the best replacement I could have asked for. He had 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. I am so very happy that my two will remember going over to Voova and Voovoo's house every Sunday and every holiday and getting a great big scratchy kiss.

Spiderman Layout

So here is what I did last night. The spiderwebs came from the PDDU cartridge, the Spiderman silhouette came from Mardenz's website, and the #4 was from a font already on my computer. I have SCAL so it makes it really easy. I although you can't tell on the pics, the spiderwebs have Glossy Accents drops on them. They make such cute dew drops.

Day 2 Down-Yay

So back to the gym I went. That was a little Yoda-ish. I sat on the dreaded bike for 45 minutes but I forgot my heart rate monitor watch. Arg, how frustrating! I was determined to go faster than the skinny chick next to me so that kept the HR up. And because I didn't want to miss the end of House I went on the treadmill and walked at a 15% incline for 20 minutes. I try not to run two days in a row because I have some weird foot pain. Oh yeah, I need to write that down. I've been living off this chili that is only 2 points per cup. YUM! Those 1 point giant latte bars have been keeping me honest as well. It was quite disheartening to see my reflection in the mirror. I swore I wouldn't go back to this. As my wonderful husband says...I know I can do it because I already have.

I hit Joann before the gym and they were still out of Coredinations paper. That was disappointing. I did find spiderweb paper that goes really well with the layout I'm doing right now. My son's 4th birthday cake was all Spidey!

Scrapbook Expo is coming to Santa Clara in August. I loved the class I took from Layle Koncor, I might do it again.

Random thoughts done!

Running and Shopping....what?!

So yesterday I went for a short run to send off a cartridge at the post office. There was a Michaels in the same shopping center so I decided to go check it out. I ended up getting six sharpie minis to try on my Cricut (they worked by the way). I couldn't buy anything too big because I had to run back with it. The run was harder than I remember it being but I ran and that is what counts. That's what I get for putting on 30 pounds. I saw a fellow WW out and about when I was supposed to be running and not shopping so that got me on the road again. Today I'm going to the gym because the kids have been itching to swim. I can work out then take them to the pool. I've got to commit to journaling everyday. Back in the day I made my own journal because the ones they have at WW just weren't cute enough. I have since just designed a journal page I can fit in my planner I've had forever that I never used. Well, wish me luck....here I go again!

So here's my first post. I hope to be making some kind of improvement every day to this blog as I learn more and more how to make it my own. Thanks for checking it out:)

Here's the REVERSIBLE Cricut Cozy that I made for my friend Patti. The accessory bag shows the inverse side. Totally fun to make.
